A Jubilee MP has revealed why there is discord between media mogul S.K Macharia and former president Mwai Kibaki.
Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri on Wednesday claimed that Macharia, former Attorney General Charles Njonjo and former Kiambaa lawmaker Stanley Githunguri had mever forgiven Kibaki for winning the 2007 general elections.
The trio Ngunjiri claimed had bankrolled former prime minister Raila Odinga's campaign for the elections but felt shortchanged when Kibaki was declared the winner.
"We know for sure that S.K Macharia, former Kiambaa MP Stanley Githunguri and former Attorney General Charles Njonjo were among few Kikuyu billionaires who bankrolled former prime minister Raila Odinga's campaign during the 2007 General Elections in the hope that they will be rewarded with rich government tenders if the former prime minister clinched power," he said.
"Since the cartel were stopped in their track by the failure by ODM to win the presidency, Mr SK Macharia and those other political leadership speculators who lost millions sponsoring the opposition have never forgiven former president Mwai Kibaki.Thet have never come to terms that they lost so much without any chance of recouping it back,"he added.
While appearing before the Senate's legal affairs committee on Tuesday, Macharia who is the Royal Media Services owner said Kibaki did not win the 2007 polls despite being declared the winner.
