A newly elected woman representative who bashed the Salary and Remuneration Commission (SRC) for reducing her salary on Tuesday has now backtracked on the attacks and is ready to take anything the commission offers her.
On Wednesday Kiambu woman representative Gathoni wa Muchomba said her earlier sentiments were quoted out of context adding that she did not expect it to generate so much criticism.
"Probably what I said yesterday was not in line with what my people expected.I didn't intend to go to that direction. However I will gladly and humbly accept whatever Sarah Serem delivers to us," she told Citizen TV.
The former journalist also added that her intention is not to enrich herself through her newly acquired position saying she is interested in service delivery with or without salary.
"Even without salary I would have served my people.I don't want to blow my trumpet but I have done a lot.I have been serving my people without quite much resource and I think I have delivered in the past,"she said.
Wa Muchomba in an interview with NTV on Tuesday slammed the remuneration body accising them of selectively targeting legislators.
