A Nairobi court has issued summons against Kaspseret MP Oscar Sudi for skipping court session in  a case where he is charged with allegedly forging his academic credentials.

On Wednesday Milimani Anti-Corruption Principal Magistrate Felix Kombo ordered Sudi to appear in court on April 24, 2017  to explain why his Sh600 000 bond should not be cancelled for deliberately skipping court session.

The MP’s lawyers Thomas Rutto and George Wajackoyah told the court that Mr Sudi skipped the court session because he was busy finalizing on his campaigns for nomination.

The prosecution led by Senior State Counsel Joseph Riungu asked the court to cancel Sudi’s Sh600, 000 bond and issue warrant of arrest against him.

The prosecution claimed that Sudi is taking court sessions for a ride yet he has allegedly committed serious economic crimes.

“We want this court to cancel Sudi’s bond and issue a warrant of arrest against him,” the prosecution said as quoted by People Daily.

The magistrate ordered Sudi’s lawyers to produce him in court on April 24.

The magistrate threatened to order the MPs arrest if he fails to appear in court.

Sudi is accused of of allegedly forging his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and his Business Management Diploma.

He is also charged with making false declaration to IEBC officers in the nomination for the 2013 general election.
