North Mugirango MP Charles Geni has now sensationally claimed that Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba resigned as ODM secretary general to join Jubilee Alliance Party.
Geni's remarks come days after Deputy President William Ruto made similar remarks while on a tour in Kericho County on Friday.
On Sunday, Ababu dismissed the DP’s claims saying his intention is to forge unity among the Luhya people.
Now Geni who also doubles as ODM Nyamira branch secretary general said the Budalangi MP has been having a warm relationship with the Jubilee government and had shown it in public.
“I want to concur with the DP that Ababu is indeed planning to join Jubilee and he was doing it strategically to make our party leader Raila Odinga take the blame,” he said.
“I don’t think a person of Ruto’s calibre can make such remarks without evidence and I therefore confirm that Ababu is indeed heading to JAP. He is only trying to blame the party for his woes with no substantive reason. I used to believe in him and my trust is no more,” he added.
He warned Ababu of hiding his woes in the name of limited democracy within the Orange party and challenged him to carry his own cross.
“He should not now hide in the name that ODM lacks internal democracy or even blame the party leader because he was given an opportunity to serve but failed. It’s time that he carries his own cross because now we have known the truth. Jubilee has been hunting for him and the DP confirmed that,” he said.
