Disgraced Bomachoge Chache MP Simon Ogari believes that Deputy President William Ruto will never be the President of the country, despite his optimism ahead of 2022 polls.
Ruto has been positioning himself to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta should he win his reelection in 2017 elections.
And Ogari who is facing eviction from ODM party despite offering his apology for being a rebel on Tuesday evening in Kisii Hotel maintained that the DPs’ chances were slim due to resistance from supporters believed to be allied to ODM.
“Honestly I think Ruto has no chance of being president given that he will need a voting block that has traditionally stood with Raila Odinga. Ever since he decamped, most of those supporters are against him and equally he can’t bank of central Kenya votes,” he said.
“The DP has also being linked with controversial issues pertaining his integrity and this even makes him unpopular choice. He has a mountain to climb and things even gets complicated should Peter Kenneth joins the race,” he added.
Ogari however maintains that Ruto’s chances could be revamped should he reconsider joining ODM ahead of 2017 elections to win Raila’s heart in 2022.
