Speaking in Karibaribi on Monday, Ng’ang’a said that there is need for the government to ensure people’s lives are improved through commissioning of income generating projects as they are paying taxes yet there are no benefits in return.

She added that most people in Kiambu region are living in abject poverty and that urgent measures should be taken to improve their living standards.

“I want to ask the county leadership to concentrate on projects that will directly improve the lives of the people rather than oppressing them with rates and levies which don’t yield anything for them,” she said.

Ng’ang’a also asked the county government to collaborate and work with both local and foreign investors to boost development saying that Kabogo has been in the frontline in putting the foreign investors into hard times while they want to invest in the area thus chasing them away.

Wamatangi intimated that Kiambu has a peaceful environment and resources that can be used to attract investors yet they are being misused.

The senator also called on leaders in the area to focus on uniting residents saying that there can be no development if there is disunity.
