Thika Town MP Patrick Wainaina has warned school heads in the constituency against sending students home over lunch money.

Speaking on Tuesday when he met with school principals drawn from Thika Town constituency, the MP said no student should be sent home because the government has given enough money to schools to cater for the students' lunch. "I don't expect any principal to send any student home over food money because the government has paid money to schools to provide lunch for the students. Any school head found going against the directive will be dealt with accordingly," said Wainaina.The MP said no student should be found staying at home instead of attending class over claims of being sent home due to lack of lunch money."Parents should not condone the tricks from students studying in day schools because no one will be sent home. Parents should cooperate with teachers to ensure students are in school at the right time. What we need is to have a future generation that is well educated," he said.Wainaina challenged students to work hard so as to get good grades that will enable them to join various colleges and universities as well as local polytechnics to acquire skills that will help them earn a living.
