Kisumu East MP Shakeel Shabbir has said he is contemplating going back to court to stop the relocation of Kachok dumpsite to Kajulu quarry.
Shakeel says the petition against the relocation that was before the court did not collapse, noting that it is only the petitioners who withdrew the petition.
He said there is no shortage of people in Kajulu to lodge another petition in court to challenge the relocation process.
Kisumu Environment and Land Court Judge S M Kibunja on Thursday vacated an earlier interim order barring the county government of Kisumu from proceeding with the relocation process.
This is after two petitioners, Fredrick Nyesi and Rose Nyanjong, according to court records withdrew from the petition.
But speaking to the press in Kisumu, Shakeel alleged that they suspect one of the petitioners was coerced adding that it will not deter their resolve to stop the relocation.
He noted that his constituency is already hosting the graveyard and Kisumu Water and Sewerage Company lagoons and will not allow a dumpsite in his constituency.
