MP Shah Hospital will be having the healing little hearts programme from November 28 to December 2, 2016.

Some 12 needy children will be treated free of charge at the Hospital’s Cathlab.

The operations will be performed by a team of paediatric cardiologists.

Some of the Paediatric Interventional Cardiologists are from Healing Little Hearts Charity and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, UK.

Dr Naomi Gachara, Paediatric Cardiologist, KNH, Nairobi along with M.P. Shah Hospital’s Dr Bhupi Reel, Paediatric Intensivist Dr Samia Bernard are among the local doctors who will be involved in the event.

Cardiologists have selected 12 children who come from poor backgrounds and whose families cannot afford these surgeries.

The surgeries need special devices called ASD and PDAs.

These procedures usually cost between Sh500,000 to Sh1,000,000 and due to financial

Constraints, MP Shah Hospital can only support a few kids.

A communique from the hospital says several thousands of children suffer from this particular ailment calling on well-wishers to offer support to alleviate the children’s suffering.
