East Africa Legislative Assembly Member of Parliament Simon Mbugua has been charged for robbery with violence.
Mr Mbugua was accused of hiring goons who then assaulted former Nairobi Central Business District Association official Timothy Muruiki on April 30.
The former NCBDA Chairman Timothy Muriuki was assaulted by goons who said he was tarnishing Sonko’s name.
This incidence took place at Boulevard Hotel where Mr Muruiki was addressing journalists.
A group of well-build men matched into the meeting and grabbed him and tore the statement he was reading before frog-matching him outside the meeting.
Mr Mbugua was also charged for stealing Sh100, 000 from Mr Muruiki during the assault.
