Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire is the latest to join the debate, terming Nyamira MCAs a ‘laughing’ stock to the society.

Bosire also challenged area residents to punish the county assembly lawmakers in 2017 elections for ‘failing to safeguard’ taxpayers' money.

“The county assembly is becoming a laughing stock to our community. It’s really disappointing that they can reject a corruption report that was prepared by a competent committee,” he told the reporter on Tuesday’s.

“It is my wish that the electorates will vote these people out in 2017 polls because they have failed in safeguarding taxpayers’ money,” Bosire added.

He accused the MCAs of allegedly colluding with the county executive to ‘loot’ public resources, and in return shielding those (executives) from prosecution.

“Initially many of these MCAs had shown signs of voting for the adoption of the report but it’s disappointing that they rejected it on the floor of the house,” said the ODM national treasurer.

“The MCAs have colluded with the executive for a long time to loot taxpayers’ money meant for development with an assurance of shielding them from prosecution. This culture of impunity must come to an end,” he added.

The corruption report, which was tabled by PAC, had implicated six county executives and several other top county officials of corruption only to be rejected by the assembly over ‘inconsistencies’.
