An MP allied to the National Super Alliance (Nasa) has blasted a section of leaders from the Maa community who recently decamped from the coalition to Jubilee.
Kajiado Central MP Memusi Kanchory on Wednesdays termed the leaders as selfish adding that their action was inconsequential as far as Nasa's popularity on the ground was concerned.
"To those leaders who recently ditched our party and decided to visit Sate House remember you are alone in your pursuits. The Maa community us solidly in Nasa," he said.
Memusi added that as leaders of the community they had witnessed Jubilee rig in leaders especially in the gubernatorial seats where two members of the ruling party were declared as winners in two key Maasai zones of Narok and Kajiado.
The two are Samuel Tunai (Narok)and Joseph ole Lenku (Kajiado).
His sentiments come barely a week after Narok senator Ledama ole Kina also blasted the defectors as self-seeking.
Notable defectees includes Narok gubernatorial hopeful Patrick ole Ntutu among others.
Memusi who is the only Nasa MP in the expansive Kajiado county spoke after a meeting betwee Nasa leaders and a delegation from the Maa community at the Capital Hill offices in Nairobi.
