Deputy President William Ruto's strong defender, Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi found himself in a big trouble after angry farmers in Eldoret shouted at him asking him to go away after he defended the maize scandal suspects who are in a hot soup.
This happened at the meeting held by the Eldoret maize farmers and a section of legislators which was held at the Teachers Advisory Center (TAC) in Eldoret on Monday.
Sudi stood at the podium to address the congregation amid the shout outs and insults hurled on him as he defended the suspects saying the matter should be dealt by relevant authorities amicably and not mentioning names of suspects.
"The matter should be dealt with the DCI and the investigators. It should be solely their responsibility to deal with the matter. I am against the mention of names of the suspects." Sudi said amid jeers from hundreds of farmers who had turned up for the meeting.
The farmers accused Sudi of dispensing with them during the time of need when they wanted him to help them get their pay. They reprimanded his act of rubbishing some legislators who named the suspects and wanted them held as a further probe is carried out.
Early this month, the farmers condemned the DP Ruto for not defending them to get their pay. Instead, the farmers said, he had channeled all his energy in jumping from one county to another on his quest for the presidency.
