The police have summoned Kapseret MP, Oscar Sudi to record statements over allegations that he threatened rival, Steve Kawa with death.
The parliamentary aspirant accused the MP of threatening to "take action including death and eliminate me from the race" on Saturday.
"The MP called me after attending a funds drive at his constituency on Saturday. He accused me of tainting his image during the event at Kipkinyua SDA church and went on to issue death threats," he claimed.
Kawa recorded statements at Gigiri Police Station and was given OB number 13/09/08/2016.
Church elder, Silas Bor also recorded a statement in which he said no political matters were discussed at the occasion.
The MP said he called Kawa and had a friendly chat with him following calls from his grassroots aides who told him that Kawa had been tarnishing his name.
"I spoke with Kawa who is my friend and told him to use the right channels to campaign, not my name. I did not threaten him in any way but if he has recorded evidence, let him present it to the CID," said Sudi.
