Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has condemned the massacring of more than 20 police officers in Baringo last weekend.
Makau has asked President Kenyatta to take a punitive action against the culprits to send a strong message to the other bandits.
"I support the President in deploying military in Kapedo to flush out the bandits. What happened to our officers was inhuman and to make the matter worse they were killed by civilians," said Makau.
The legislator was speaking in his Mavoko constituency on Monday when he visited a bereaved family in the area that lost one of their sons in the Baringo attacks. The officer was 20 years and had just joined the Police Service last year.
Makau also asked for the immediate arrest and prosecution of any politician who could be involved in the banditry attacks.
"I also join those asking for the prosecution of the warlords who capitalize on the ignorance of their people to cause havoc and terror," he added.
The Kapedo incident comes barely a year after more than 40 police officers were killed in similar circumstances in Baragoi, in an operation to recover stolen livestock.
