Farmers from Kangundo in Machakos County have been told to form Saccos so as to benefit from various government funding programs.
Kangundo MP Fabian Mule said farmers from the region are not beneficiaries of State programs, especially loans because they have not joined Saccos.
"Farmers should form or join already existing Saccos in a bid of benefiting from government loans to boost their farming activities. The farmers will access cheap or subsidized farm inputs, loan write offs and financing," Mule said.
Mule said the farmers will be able to increase production in their farm produce and boost income if they join Saccos.
“Farmers will enjoy huge profits if their production rises, it is time for them to come together and join Saccos for the sake of boosting their farming activities,” added Mule.
