Mule said the county will go for a by-election stating that Mutua’s appeal in the Supreme Court is meaningless.

Speaking to journalists at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Wednesday, the Wiper MP said Mutua deserves the political woes he is going through.

He claimed that Machakos residents have suffered at the mercy of the Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader.

Mule said Mutua’s leadership has brought nothing but misery to Machakos people.

“Machakos people are ready for the by-election as the per the court of appeal ruling and Mutua should stop these petty sideshows and brace up for the battle,” Mule said.

Mule said Machakos residents have another opportunity to make the right choice.

He told Machakos residents not to be fooled by Mutua’s sideshows.

Mule exuded confidence that former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti will carry the day in the by-election.

Mutua’s election was nullified by the Court of Appeal last week on grounds that it was not free and fair.

The appellant court ordered the IEBC to conduct a fresh gubernatorial election in conformity with the constitution.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader has appealed the Court of Appeal's ruling at the Supreme Court as he maintains that he is still the governor.

On Tuesday, members of the Machakos County Assembly voted to have Mutua ousted from office.
