Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has been told to resign in case he is finding it difficult to effectively deliver.
Kathiani MP Robert Mbui said there are many leaders best suited for the Machakos gubernatorial position who can do better jobs than the governor.
He said Mutua was busy traversing the country hunting for votes while his people were suffering.
"The governor has forgotten the people who voted for him. We wouldn't want him to waste five years doing nothing, he should give us quality for the tax he handles," Mbui said.
Mbui spoke at Mitaboni in his constituency on Friday.
He said Mutua should get back to Machakos County and concentrate on tackling issues affecting the residents before he thinks visiting other counties.
"I heard he narrowly escaped after a bridge caved in Kisii, what is he doing in Kisii instead of being in his county delivering to his people? If he feels he can't do what he was elected for, he should relinquish his position and let someone capable take charge," Mbui said.
Mbui condemned the governor for branding projects with his party colors.
