Nyakach's Aduma Owuor said should anybody be killed by police in the lakeside county, he will carry the body to State House Kisumu in protest against government complacency in bringing to justice killers.

"I will ensure I carry the body to State House so that they can see what to do with it because they have failed to find the killers of innocent people," said Owuor.

Mr Owuor, who alongside civil society groups addressed the media at Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground in Kisumu said government has failed to protect its citizens.

He said he has on several occasions received death threats which he raised in Parliament but little has been done with regard to investigations.

It is not the first time Owuor is doing this.

Two years ago, he dumped the body of a man who was shot by an arrow at the door step of Nyanza Regional Coordinator Francis Mutie's office.

He was later charged in court for mishandling a dead body.

Chris Owalla, who spoke on behalf of civil society group said they will join the lawyers all over the country to protest against extrajudicial killings.

He stated that the country has witnessed human rights activists being killed.

“The Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet should ensure police officers linked to murder or those mentioned in death threats be investigated and be charged in courts of law,” said Mr Owalla.

He said two people who have in police custody in Kisumu have gone missing.

The two are Felix Odhiambo and Michael Onyango.

“The police in Kisumu should come out and tell us the where-about of the duo,” said Mr Owalla.
