Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi is contemplating filing an impeachment Motion against Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i for 'illegally' disbanding Siaya County Education Board.
The CS a fortnight ago cracked the whip on the county education members following an incident where class eight pupils did a mock exam with the area Governor Cornel Rasanga's portrait on the papers.
However, according to Wandayi, the education officials were interdicted without being given an opportunity to defend themselves over the incident.
"Worse still, the officers have been curiously and promptly replaced by persons who could only have been positioned strategically on the sidelines awaiting the opportunities to be unveiled," said Wandayi.
The legislator who is also the ODM Director of Political Affairs said the CS should rescind his decision immediately even as he claimed Matiang'i was implementing the scheme by the Jubilee government to frustrate development in the Luo region.
The lawmaker added that as a county, they will hold Dr Matiang'i responsible should students in the county perform below their expectations.
"I will also concurrently sponsor a motion of impeachment against him in the National Assembly at that time," he added.
