Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire will be given a 'heroes' welcome after he is released from police custody, an MCA from Nyamira has revealed.
Mr Bosire was arrested with seven other MPs for allegedly uttering inciting remarks and has been arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts on Friday.
On Friday, Manga MCA Peter Maroro told this writer that the homecoming ceremony will also be significant to ‘cleanse’ Bosire’s home as well as being used as platform to launch his 2017 re-election bid.
“Preparations are in progress to give our MP a 'heroes' welcome after he is released from police custody as a sign of love to him. He has represented us very well on the national scene for condemning those who want to drag our country back to the dictatorial era,” said the Nyamira Assembly Majority Whip.
“The party will also be significant because elders will cleanse his home to exorcise other bad omen to the family. We will also use it as a platform to launch his 2017 re-election bid,” he said.
Even though Mr Maroro didn’t give further details, he hinted that the ceremony will be graced by senior politicians within the Cord coalition, coinciding with Mr Bosire recent remarks that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga would tour the region within a month after his last tour over a week ago.
“We have set everything in place and all senior politicians will be attending. I can’t be able to tell who will come but be sure that all his friends will attend,” he said.
