Ainabkoi Member of Parliament William Chepkut has promised to meet school fees for all local students joining the newly established Kipkabus Technical Training Institute in his constituency.
Chepkut said this will ensure more student from the region joins the institution.
"It's sad that as I am talking there is a low number of students who have enrolled in the institute to pursue technical courses," said the Ainabkoi MP in Eldoret town, Saturday.
"The Jubilee government has equipped the institute with state of art equipment’s, but I am disappointed that the turn out is very poor especially students from my constituency," he added.
As an incentive to boost the enrollment of local students, the MP said he would pay tuition fees and parents will only concentrate on their children's welfare.
"This trend is not good since it leaves the facilities established in the constituency for students from other regions," he noted.
Chepkut also challenged parents from the region to enroll their children to pursue technical courses saying it would help them acquire technical skills and knowledge that will enable them to earn a living.
