An MP has promised bright but needy students in his constituency that he will for the next five years, prioritise their interests.Kisumu West MP Olago Aluoch said on Friday that the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) will set aside a special fund that will be channeled towards assisting the needy students to whichever level they wish.Olago, who retained his seat in the August 8 election, said in the last five years, the CDF Fund prioritised the development of other sectors ignoring education."We value education more because it is the engine that drives all spheres of life," the Ford Kenya-elected MP said."Prepare to apply for the fund, study and let your stars rise," he added.He was speaking at Kanyakwar where he met parents who had sought to know how he intends to help students from humble backgrounds in the constituency.Kisumu is among counties with the highest poverty levels in the country but the county produces some of the brightest students.
