Molo MP Jacob Macharia has called on the police in the area to crack down on unscrupulous boda boda operators in the area.
The move was triggered by the operators failure to register for a driving programme to be fully sponsored by his office.
He regretted the fact that a large percentage of the riders failed to register for the free programme while they knew very well that they are not qualified for the task.
Speaking at the Elburgon trading centre on Monday, the MP said he has liaised with different Sacco leaders to ensure the programme is facilitated well.
"It's interesting that our boys don't want to get licences knowing very well that it is against the law. I am asking the police not to allow people with such mentality on our roads again. We want to eradicate accidents on our roads," he said.
His office has slated meetings in different wards beginning Monday 25 to deliberate on safety, insurance and self sustainability.
