An MP allied to the Jubilee Party has dismissed the recent tour by three ODM governors in the Coast region as inconsequential.

Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro said Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi (Kilifi) and John Mruttu (Taita Taveta) were using the tour to seek popularity after sensing defeat and also attack the Jubilee administration. He advised the governors to instead tell Coastal residents what they have done since they assumed office in 2013.“The tour is nothing other than a mere tantrum to seek popularity by the three governors who have seen their re-election getting thinner by the day,” said Mung’aro, as reported by the Nation. He asked the county bosses to account for the monies they received from the central government, adding that all the projects undertaken by the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led administration are visible.Jubilee has been making inroads in the Coast region since the 2013 general election, and has seen several opposition politicians join the outfit as the August polls beckon.
