Bonchari MP John Oyioka has promised to revive the construction of Miranga Youth Polytechnic in Bomariba ward Kisii County.
Mr Oyioka accused the former MP John Opore of misappropriating funds meant for the construction of the polytechnic.
"Construction was halted on the project because funds meant to construct it were misused. It is unfortunate that the former MP misused the funds," he said.
The lawmaker said that an audit will be conducted to ensure that all the money lost under Opore's tenure were recovered.
According to him, there is no tangible development project that was initiated by the area MP for the 15 years that he was in office.
"I will ensure that all the money meant for projects is utilised well so that the people can feel the benefits of good leadership," he said.
