Kisumu West MP Olago Aluoch was on Tuesday morning turned away at the polling station.
He was turned away due to lack of an original ID.
Olago who was to cast his vote at Mkendwa Muslim Primary School was not allowed to have his finger prints checked at the KIEMS computer.
He tried to convince the officials that he was a registered voter at the station but it was in vain.
Olago pleaded that he had accidentally picked the laminated ID copy and left the original copy in his house which was less than five kilometers from the station.
"I think I was just in a hurry, but I have no objection. Let me get back to the house I will return to the station with the document. There is still enough time," Olago is quoted by Standard.
He expressed satisfaction with the process.
"So far things are moving on well and we hope this is going to be the trend across the constituency. I want to start moving round just to ensure everything is smooth," he said.
