An MP allied to the National Super Alliance (NASA) has told off president Uhuru Kenyatta over his criticism of the opposition saying it is not interested in the repeat presidential polls.
South Mugurango lawmaker Sylvanus Osoro on Monday claimed that it was indeed the president who is not keen on the repeat elections if his utterances are anything to go by.
"None other than the president is scared of this election. If he keeps insinuating that the ballot boxes should be reopened and recounting of the votes done isn't that a scared man. He should stop accusing NASA blindly while he is the one who is not interested in the first place," he told KTN.
Osoro added that NASA's quest was to see a credible IEBC before the new polls maintaining that it would be pointless to have another election with a poll body whose credibility is seriously in question.
"We have said that we are not worried about these polls, but what is the point of going into an election that is to be presided over by the very people who bungled an earlier one. They must step aside first," he added.
The Kenya National Congress (KNC) member however exuded confidence that Raila Odinga would trounce president Kenyatta in the new poll.
