An opposition lawmaker has hit out at President Uhuru Kenyatta for focusing on none issues during his State of the Nation address to Parliament last Thursday.
Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo Tuesday accused Uhuru of engaging in a public relations gimmick instead of addressing key issues affecting the nation.
"Just a few weeks ago, his Energy minister was detained in Tanzania. On the other hand, Ugandan soldiers are harassing his countrymen in Migingo island. Instead of him telling Kenyans that they are surrounded by hostile neighbours, he chose to feed them on empty rhetoric," Midiwo said.
The deputy minority leader in the National Parliament also defended his allies who blew whistles during the joint sitting in a bid to scuttle the President's speech saying they were expressing the frustrations of the common mwananchi against the government.
Midiwo was speaking during a breakfast show on Q FM Tuesday.
