Ainabkoi Member of Parliament William Chepkut has urged Uasin Gishu county government to install security lights at Kipkorgot town.

He said there have been increased cases of insecurity in the region.

“I want to urge Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago to put security lights at Kipkorgot estate since insecurity cases have increased. As I am talking we have lost over four people. I humbly urge him to act at speed since our people are suffering,” he said at Kipkorgot town Friday.

“I will not allow our people to continue losing their lives anyhow, he should act with immediate effect before more lives are lost. I also call upon the Inspector general of police Joseph Boinet to deploy more police officers in the region for sanity to prevail,” he added.

He, however, urged residents to embrace Nyumba Kumi initiative by knowing the whereabouts of their neighbours.

“This is the only way that will guarantee Kenyans of their security since anybody with suspicious characters can be reported to the nearest police station,” noted Chepkut.
