Alego Usonga Mp George Omondi has made a passionate appeal to Kenyans to embrace and promote dialogue when handling disputes instead of waiting for the state to intervene.

Speaking to the press at Bisan Hargeisa, Bura constituency on Sunday, Omondi said that many problems facing communities in Kenya revolve around resources and boundaries and can be resolved locally through dialogue if concerned parties learnt to engage and talk to each other.

Omondi said the quest for solutions was a collective responsibility and the state should be allowed to come in and resolves such issues as a last resort. “If we can’t find any solution, then let the government come in,” he added.

“We have only one country. If Kenya burns, we all suffer. Somalis who cross over to war torn Somalia will be called refugees and the same for Luos who cross to Uganda,” he said as quoted by KNA.

He urged Kenyans to guard peace saying that it is vital for any country adding ‘politics come and go but Kenya will always remain.’

“Politicians come and go. Kenyatta ruled this country for many years. When he died, he didn’t go with country. It’s the same for former presidents Moi and Kibaki. It will also apply to Uhuru Kenyatta. Kenya is bigger than any one of us,” he added.
