Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has urged the Mijikenda Community and the Coast region as a whole to embrace girl child education.

Speaking during the opening of classrooms in the constituency, the MP reiterated the need for parents to educate their children.
"I call upon local residents to embrace education, more so girl child education. This is in a bid to ensure every child gets an equal opportunity to participate fully in the social, economic and political development of the country,” said Awiti.
Meanwhile, the MP has thanked the Mijikenda Community for supporting his 2017 gubernatorial ambition.
Awiti was accompanied by Kaloleni MP Mr Gunga Mwinga, who is also the Chairman of the Coast Parliamentary Group.
