Emuhaya MP Wibur Ottichilo has called upon the members of the Luhya community to support Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord ) Leader Raila Amolo Odinga as he seeks to unseat President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto in the forthcoming general elections, arguing that they were given the real deal in the National Super Alliance(NASA).
Ottichilo, who spoke in Mbale Municipal Grounds on Saturday during an event in which he unveiled Patrick Saisi as his running mate for the Vihiga governor race, said that Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi was given the crucial part in the alliance after his appointment as Premier Cabinet Secretary.
He also said that Mudavadi, who was crowned the Luhya spokesperson, was given an important role in the government in which he will oversee its functions, adding that Luhyas have no reason to claim that their leaders were shortchanged.
“Those trying to divide us by saying some principals got better positions than others have nothing to say. We must shame them,” Ottichilo said.
He asked leaders who have been spreading lies in different parts of the nation to look for better ways to seek for votes as we head to the August General polls.
