Nyaribari Chache Mp Richard Tong’i has asked education stakeholders in Kisii county to work as a team so as to improve the quality of education in the region.
Speaking early today while holding a public Baraza at Nyamware primary school playing ground in Keumbu ward in his constituency the legislator said it is through collective responsibility that education standards can be improved.
He asked parents to pay school fees on time saying poor payment was a cause of poor planning which is an impediment to achieving a quality education.
“It is surprising that some parents have school arrears up to over Sh100,000 and are expecting their children to be in class," he said.
At the same time, the Mp asked teachers to ensure that they finish the syllabus in good time so that they have ample time for revision.
He blamed the examination cheating to poor planning, which tempted the teachers to steal examinations with the hope of making their students pass.
“All leaders should ensure that we have the better results in the next exams and that can be only achieved through collective efforts,” he added.
