Speaking in Naivasha town on Monday, the MP said that unemployment remains a key problem despite various government interventions.

The MP indicated that many youths are languishing in crime and other social evils as a result of unemployment.

“I want to ask both the county and the national government to put in place more measures to curb unemployment,” said Kihagi.

He said that rising cases of drug abuse and robberies is associated with some idle youths who need jobs.

“It is dangerous to leave young people roam our towns and villages aimless without doing anything constructive with their lives,” added Kihagi.

Kihagi however lauded the support being provided under the Uwezo Fund kitty saying it has opened avenues for some youths.

He further added that several youth groups in the constituency have applied for the funds, saying the list of successful applicants will be released soon.

The MP urged youths to be on the frontline by taking interest in the activities being conducted by the county and Sub-county administrations.
