The legislature said the move will foster unity and peaceful coexistence.

Speaking on Saturday at Mombasa Technical Training Institute's (MTTI) where he presided over the institution's cultural day, the legislator called on the students to extend the unity experienced in the institution, even after they graduate.

"As you take part in this year's cultural day, I wish to urge each one of you to embrace the country's diverse and rich cultures as our strength and not our weakness," he said.

"Let the brotherhood that you have formed with each other while studying together here continue even after your graduation and entry into different fields of life," he added.
