The lawmaker on Tuesday said schools from the region did not perform well in last year's KCPE and KCSE exams because the teachers have served in one school for long.
"TSC should transfer teachers who have served in on school for long and cannot teach pupils and students well. We need new teachers with new policies and guidelines to boost education performance in future exams," he said.
He urged parents to ensure children reports to school on daily basis.
"Pupils and students should not be absent from schools because they will not cover the syllabus same as those reporting to school. Teachers should maintain the attendance register to know those not reporting to school daily," said the MP.
He promised fair and transparent distribution of bursaries to all secondary and college students without discrimination.
"Everyone student who applies for bursary must be given money to cater for school fees," he said.
