Borabu Member of Parliament Ben Momanyi has called on women from his constituency to join self help groups, to help one another as they improve their lives by undertaking various development projects.
Speaking in Keginga, in his constituency when he gave out Sh1.5 million to Saidiana Women Group that will be used to help them get tapped water at their homesteads, Momanyi said that it is through coming together of the people that will see them get the development they want.
“These women have come together and we have given them money that will help them get water in their homes. I want to ask other women to join these groups so that you develop together, no one should be left behind,” he said.
The legislator said that he is ready to team up with the groups that are ready to start development projects and improve their lives by financing them.
Meanwhile, residents of Nyansiongo in Borabu have called on the county government of Nyamira to help them have tapped water in their homes, after they had a hard time getting water during the dry season.
They have raised concern that despite the rapid growth experienced in Nyansiongo town, the town still lacks enough water and asked Governor John Nyagarama to help them, saying that most rivers have dried up.
