Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange has urged youth who have attained 18years from Kiambaa Sub-county who have no Identification Cards (IDs) to visit registration centers to get them.
Koinange said that lack of the National IDs among the youth has locked them from participating in national issues.
“Youth without IDs can’t participate in issues like voting and they can’t be afforded the privileges like other electorate,” said Koinange.
Koinange was speaking at Banana shopping center on thursday during a public meeting with the local youth.
He said the recruitment of the membership of The National Alliance Party (TNA) will be boosted by youth with IDs and urged youth to support the recruitment by getting IDs to ensure that they are eligible for voting.
The legislator also urged youth to work hard and desist from crimes
“The government has set many youth funds like Uwezo Fund to help youth to start enterprises. Form groups and access such to develop yourselves,” said Koinange.
“Millions of shillings are lying idle at youth offices because many youth have no information about the fund,” said Koinange.
He added that the youth who have formed groups have better chance of getting the funds than individual seekers.
He further said that he would work with county government in modeling youth by providing them with necessary information on how to start income-generating projects.
