Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has said that he will not sit and watch other leaders disrespect the President through their public utterances.
Kuria noted said that it has become a norm for some opposition leaders to talk ill of President Uhuru, thus disrespecting the Presidency.
“They have to know that President Kenyatta is the legally and constitutionally elected President of Kenya, and they have to respect him. I will not take it lying down when people decide to go round calling the President names,” said Kuria.
The controversial MP also announced that he has quit social media, saying that he needs to focus on his role as Gatundu South MP.
“I have not been on facebook or twitter for more than two weeks now because I don't want to keep on being derailed from my work by endless court cases,” said Kuria.
He further added that he is not a tribalist, saying that his friends cut across the ethnic divide.
The MP was speaking in Kiganjo Youth Polytechnic, Gatundu South, during the launch of Umeme Rahisi Project.
His quitting of social media comes amid a heightened debate on a stern action to be taken against him, after being accused of spewing hate on social media.
