Kisii Women Representative Mary Otara says she will pitch tent in the region for the next two weeks to sensitize locals on the essence of voter registration.
This comes amid concerns by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) revealed low voter registration turnout in Kisii and Nyamira counties.
Otara who was speaking at Mobamba urged fellow leaders to set aside the final two weeks for voter registration adding that IEBC needed input of all stakeholders.
"We are not doing well in voter registration and I have resolved to be around for the next two weeks. We need to register more people to increase our numbers," she said.
"All leaders regardless of our political affiliation should come on board and help us do something extra. I am confident that we can improve significantly," Otara added.
The ODM MP is facing a stiff challenge from nominated senator Janet Ong'era, who is yet though to launch her bid for the Women Representative seat.
