The talented youth will now have a reason to smile after Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a promised to give Sh1 million to develop the upcoming talents.
The lawmaker on Thursday vowed to fund the youth who have talents in different areas to boost their ambitions and to validate their dreams as artists.
She called on the Thika artists to join hands and grab a portion of the youth talents fund.
The MP had earlier promised to launch a football tournament in Thika as way of nurturing the talents and called on the youth to take part in order to benefit.
“I have Sh1 million that I want to promote upcoming artists and talented youth who cannot erupt due to insufficient funds,” the MP said.
“That is why I will launch a football tournament very soon to cater for the young talents which have remain hidden in our society,” she added.
The lawmaker called on the youth to form organisations of talents and approach her office to disburse the talent fund which she said will eradicate crimes and drug abuse in Thika town.
The MP was speaking on Thursday during the grand opening of the Society stores, formerly Leens supermarket in Thika town.
