Kaiti Member of Parliament Joshua Kimilu has urged the national government to increase the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocation.
This, the MP says will enable them to initiate and implement more projects to spur development in their respective constituencies.
Speaking on Wednesday at Kitundumo primary school in his constituency, Kimilu said that CDF has brought tangible development at the grassroots and improved living standards since its inception but more needs to be done.
"Constituency development fund from the national government has given the bright and needy students a chance to learn", Said Kimilu.
He noted that the money set aside for CDF is not enough to carry out many development projects.
"The CDF funds are small compared to the work needed to be done it would be fair if the national government would increase it," Said Kimilu.
The MP further observed that most of the time they are forced to lock out bursary applicants due to insufficient funds.
"Sadly were even forced to lock out kids who need the bursaries since we can't cater for all of them."
He also promised to install Lightning arrestors in schools across the constituency in a bid to prevent them from being struck by the lightning.
