The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party national Treasurer Timothy Bosire wants the prolonged impasse on the IEBC is not good for the country.
Speaking in his constituency on Monday, Bosire warned that the stalemate could cause chaos as the one witnessed during the 2007-08 after the contested presidential election results.
The Kitutu Masaba MP challenged Uhuru to initiate dialogue to end the crisis over the push by Cord on the removal of the embattled commissioners from office.
Bosire warned that if the President and his Deputy William Ruto do not actively engage in solving the demands by the opposition, then there could be civil unrest.
"We as the opposition have set precedent in wanting to end the stalemate but the Government is reneging. Both sides should choose to dialogue in the interest of the country, especially after the 2007-08 experience," said Bosire.
"Signs are very clear that we are heading the same road, something that no leader would want to be part of," he added.
He insisted that the opposition will continue agitating for the removal of the IEBC chiefs through peaceful public demonstrations in all towns as a way of expressing their demands.
"It is not a matter of negotiation whether the IEBC commissioners should go home or not, because their integrity is in serious doubt. What we should be negotiating at this moment is how we can install a new image of an electoral body that is trusted by all Kenyans," said he.
