Addressing the press at Machakos on Monday, the MP said that the families of the fallen soldiers deserve appropriate compensation.

He stated that since the officers died while on duty, the government should ensure that their families are well taken care of.

“ The government should handsomely compensate families of the 21 AP officers who lost their lives in Kapedo attack,” he said.

The legislator however lashed out at the government for failing to put in place measures to protect Kenyans.

He said that rising insecurity in various parts of the country is a concern that should be addressed immediately.

Mbui also wondered why the government had to send junior officers in the operation that turned tragic.

“It does not make sense that the government had to risk the lives of junior officers some who had only worked for six months in such a risky operation,” he lamented.

He called for proper policies that will ensure the lives of officers on duty and Kenyans at large are protected.

The MP further urged the top security organs to re-strategise it’s tactics in a bid to curb insecurity across the country.
