While speaking to locals during a tour of the constituency on Tuesday, the MP said that locals have a right to be involved in development plans.

He intimated that seeking people’s views on matters that concern them will create a conducive environment for development.

Ichungwa added that the constitution allows the people to present their views to the government, on what they think is to be done.

“The county government should make sure that people’s views are incorporated in development plans,” said Ichungwa.

The Kikuyu legislator further asked the county leadership to make sure that locals benefit from the projects being implemented, further observing that the main idea of devolving some key government functions was to make sure that people at the grass root access services.

The MP promised residents that he is working extra hard to fulfil the pledges he made to them during the 2013 general election campaigns.

He noted that he will work with like-minded leaders to ensure that people get quality, and affordable services.
