Borabu MP Ben Momanyi has asked the ministry of Interior to deploy more police officers in Borabu to help in fighting cattle rustling.
The lawmaker stated that there have been increased cases of livestock theft in Borabu in the recent days due to the less number of police officers in the region.
“There have been rampant cases of livestock theft in Borabu because the region lacks enough police officers to hunt down the criminals. The ministry of Interior should consider deploying more police officers to Borabu who are experienced to curb cattle rustling,” he said.
Momanyi urged Interior Cs Fred Matiang’i to move with speed and deploy the security officers to the region to flush out criminals from the constituency.
The legislator said local chiefs and Nyumba Kumi officials only will not succeed in the fight against livestock theft.
He challenged the locals to cooperate with the security teams for the purpose of ending cattle rustling in Nyamira.
