Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut has asked TSC and ministry of education to deploy more teachers in village schools to help teach the increased number of children joining village schools.
Chepkut on Sunday said the shortage of teachers in village schools is to blame for the poor KCSE and KCPE performance last year.
“My constituency has a shortage of teachers and I call on TSC and ministry of education to deploy more teachers to help boost performance,” he said.
According to the lawmaker, shortage of teachers in the region is undermining learning.
He said the county should also employ ECDE teachers who are qualified to give a good foundation for kids starting school.
The MP was speaking to the press on Sunday in Eldoret after he met primary and secondary school head teachers from his constituency.
