Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) national chairman John Mbadi has written to Parliamentary Account’s Committee Chairman Nicholas Gumbo asking him to summon Elgeyo- Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Farouk Kibet over NYS saga.
The two are close allies of Deputy President William Ruto and have been heavily linked with the loss of over Sh1.6bn at least according to evidence submitted to PAC.
The Suba (Gwasi) MP argues that the PAC report would not be conclusive should the two prominent persons not appear before the committee.
“I am requesting that Kipchumba and Kibet are summoned to answer various serious queries raised by a number of witnesses who have appeared before the committee,” he said.
“They will help us unearth the mystery behind the loss of millions of taxpayers’ money. The report cannot be conclusive without their input. My humble take is that they have a role to play in the investigations,” added Mbadi.
Initially, Murkomen accused Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru of linking him to the saga but reiterated his willingness to appear before the committee.
