Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has asked the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and the Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko to investigate and charge NASA politicians threatening to swear in their leader Raila Odinga as president.

The Jubilee MP says that NASA politicians threat of swearing in Raila amounts to incitement and could fuel more political divisions in in the country.

In an interview on NTV on Sunday, the MP claimed that the Raila swearing-in statement by a section of NASA politicians is treasonable.

“The police should launch immediate investigations on NASA politicians who are threatening to swear in Raila Odinga as president,” he said during the interview.

Nyoro said that the country will be heading in the wrong directions if rogue politicians are allowed to fuel speculations and incitement.

The MP criticized the opposition saying that they have no basis on which they can swear in Raila as president.

A section of opposition politicians led by Siaya Senator James Orengo and former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama have been threatening to swear in Raila if president-elect Uhuru Kenyatta is sworn in for a second term.

The NASA politicians say that they will swear in Raila using the August 8 presidential results which they claim he won by a landslide.

Raila is currently in the United States and is expected to jet back in the country on Thursday as the push for the creation of People’s Assemblies gain momentum.
